A New Angle on Guitar Playing [ Stand by to be stunned ]I have been working for sometime on a sensational new product for guitar players. The book and CD has been put together by a member of The Serious Writers Guild.
Andy has been down at my studio and I have been amazed at his speed and technique ... absolutely breathtaking. Now, I play a mean guitar myself but I have never been a 'fast' player .... Andy can play with blurring speed. This book and CD lays bare all the tricks and practice techniques that are necessary.
The book is in it's final stages of production and I can't wait to make it available ... as I have said "Stand by to be stunned" ... this takes it all to a different level. You will be the first to know about it.

Cache files are used to store information on a temporary basis for quick access. The physical location of this can be either on a hard drive or in RAM memory.
The idea behind it is to store information the computer is probably going to need in a location that's quick and easy to access. Since it can get to needed information quicker, the computer runs faster.
When you are on a secure server however, (the address starts with "https:") the page is NOT saved to your Temporary Internet Files. You can rest easy that your card info is not sitting in the cache, just waiting for someone to find it.

Hi Uncle Dec,
It's a great idea to have computer system unit of the reach of recording. I've tried taking out my system units out of the recording room and did a test with a condenser microphone to check for noises. There was a huge difference with having them in the room. Now the problem I am facing is my keyboard cables and mouse cables. Putting the system units outside the room makes it difficult for them to be connected to it because of the distance. Do you have an idea where I can very long PS2 adapters/cables for them. I have searched the market, I did see some but there were really short for the purpose I wanted them to serve.
Will be glad to read from you soonest.
Regards,
'kk'PS: I am still facing problems with drum triggers but that is another discussion for later.

I had the same problem when I installed my present Apple Mackintosh with Protools ..... The noise from the fan was acceptable .. But not acceptable by me! [grin!]I got in touch with a computer repair and service man who looks after my equipment when we have a breakdown which we cannot fix ourselves .... He informed me that he could easily make up customised extension cables for the mouse, screen and keyboard. The cost would be small for the convenience achieved.
He warned me that there is a limit to the length - as the mouse, screen and keyboard information is powered by the USB links .... This problem can be solved by using a mains powered multi USB hub ... BUT .... For some unknown reason certain pieces of equipment need to be connected directly to the tower ... Don't ask me why.... And I cannot find anyone who can really answer the question...why?
I devised a novel answer to the whole problem myself!
My studio is in a loft area of the house. It is a large house which has a number of 'walk-in' loft spaces [as they had when this old house was built]. So I positioned the mixing desk against a wall which backed onto a roof void [the triangular area between the roof tiles and the floor joists]. I then drilled a hole through and fed the cables into the void. I then placed the tower in the roof void and for extra sound insulation surrounded it with duvets [warm blankets we use in the winter for bedding]. I made sure the fans were not interfered with.
The fitting was tight and it took a lot of awkward fiddling to get everything positioned right but the result is fabulous .... Almost total silence in my studio space ... Even with a high quality condenser mic. at full level.
So, there are two solutions .... I know mine works [drilling a hole through to the next room] .... It may be that a friendly computer engineer would make up one long extension lead for you to try? Let me know how you get on.

Wedding dress
Son asked his mother the following question: "Mum, why are wedding
dresses white?"
The mother looks at her son and replies, "Son, this shows your friends and relatives that your bride is pure."
The son thanks his Mum and goes off to double-check this with his father.
"Dad why are wedding dresses white?"
The father looks at his son in surprise and
says,"Son, all household appliances come in white."
