What a party? [ Jim Marshal celebrates his 86th ]
Yep, it was a star studded evening … and Jim, the man who invented ‘loud’ was on top form.
Despite his bouts of ill health he manages to beam that huge smile and he manages to enjoy life and he manages to have his ‘wee dram’ … his own special whisky distilled for him personally in Scotland.
It was great to hear the Show Biz stories … to mix with my own music fraternity …. Just great …. But did I drink a little too much? Yep! And the photos prove it! [grin]

Fact!
What a good looking new guitar amp [ this will get you noticed? ]
The USA guitar amp company, 3RD Power, thinks outside the box with this new Guitar Amplifier System. What a stunner.
3RD POWER Amplifications Systems has announced the release of the HLH-100 amplification system, an all-tube guitar amplification system featuring patent-pending technologies. The all-new HLH HD100 head and HLH 312 cabinet offer superior sensitivity, complex gain structure and tonal palette designed for professional touring and recording guitarists.
Check it out … but check your bank balance first:

Gibson SG comes to life again [The Iconic guitar gets a new lease of life]
There is a seemingly ubiquitous appreciation today for nostalgic pop-culture references that hail from the 1960s and now span into contemporary days, spattered with some of the most memorable faces, infinite historical moments, countless celebrated names and equally distinguished brands.
The guitar that was used on so many hits through the decades has now come to life again …. Tasty!

First emergency [ have you tried 112 yet? ]
The Emergency Number worldwide for Mobile is 112. If you find yourself out of the coverage area of your mobile network and there is an Emergency, dial 112 and the mobile will search any existing network to Establish the emergency number for you, and interestingly, this number 112 can be dialled even if the keypad is locked.
Try it out. It could save your life some day.

I cannot thank you enough for spending so much time in giving me your advice on this matter. I really appreciate it. In view of your comments I have to say it does concern me about the testimonials given.
I forgot to mention in my email that I did use your song appraisement service and it was brilliant!

Subscriber's Section [ misunderstanding that quote? ]
“Hi Dec
You see Uncle Dec, it is said that 'a man is wealthy when he can stay away from work for one full year and he is earning money(ies)/profits'...my question is, if his earnings is dependent on human-beings and not computers...how can he ensure proper running of day to day activities without his presence... because I think the 'human factor' might be a major drawback...I have experienced working for a small company before and most of my colleagues cared less about their working habits and this kept on frustrating my boss at that time.

I think you may be misunderstanding that quote.
I have heard it from Dick Rowe the infamous boss of Decca Records ... he used to say to me: "wealth is the amount of money you are earning while lying on the beach"
Normally, this would mean the amount of money in interest your stash of money is earning. I have some friends like this ... they worked very hard and very cleverly and then sold the business ... the invested money then gives them an excellent life style ... however, nowadays this is quite difficult to achieve as the interest rates available are very small.
In starting out with a business venture it would be disastrous to set it running and then disappear for a year as your quote says ...
The most successful businessmen are those who are 'hands-on' ... up early, going to bed late ... first in the office and last to leave.
The hugely successful businessmen have the knack of starting a business, working hard at it until it almost runs itself ... then standing back, delegating responsibility and then starting a new business in the same way ... then standing back again .... thus they end up with a lot of different businesses ... so if one fails or is not as profitable as it should be the others will sustain it until it grows again ... they never take their eye off the ball or leave the entire running of the business to a 'manager' ... that is a recipe for disaster.
The ultimate aim would be to sell the combined businesses .... then probably start all over again. Usually this type of businessman gets such a buzz out of making money that he will never retire and sit on the beach! [like me?]
Always remember that 'get rich quick' schemes and businesses do not exist ... to make a lot of money you have to get up earlier and work harder than anyone else ... but in a 'smart' way.
And also remember that great businessmen are great 'talkers' .... have you joined Toastmasters International yet?
Regards

The gags: ..... [Heart-warming tale?]
This is a short story about the bond formed between a little girl and a group of building workers. It's allegedly true and makes you want to believe in the goodness of people and that there is hope for the human race.
A young family moved into a house next door to an empty plot. One day Joe, Steve and a gang of building workers turned up to start building a house.
The young family's 5-year-old daughter naturally took an interest in all the activity going on next door and started talking with the workers.
She hung around and eventually the builders, all with hearts of gold, more or less adopted the little girl as a sort of project mascot. They chatted with her, let her sit with them while they had tea and lunch breaks, and gave her little jobs to do here and there to make her feel important.
They even gave her her very own hard hat and gloves.
At the end of the first week they presented her with a pay envelope containing two pounds in 10p coins. The little girl took her 'pay' home to her mother who suggested that they take the money she had received to the bank the next day to start a savings account.
When they got to the bank the cashier was tickled pink listening to the little girl telling her about her 'work' on the building site and the fact she had a 'pay packet'.
"You must have worked very hard to earn all this", said the bank cashier. The little girl proudly replied, "I worked all last week with the men building a big house."
"My goodness gracious," said the cashier, "Will you be working on the house again this week, as well?" The little girl thought for a moment and said...
"I think so. Provided those w*nkers at Jewsons deliver the f*cking bricks."
[apologies for language but it makes the gag? Dec]
